Blue Dragon is again thrilled to have had the support of Wellington’s Interact Club of Port Nicholson, a subsidiary of the Rotary International.
Each year Interact, which comprises year 11-13 girls from Wellington Girls’ College, nominate a charity to direct their fundraising efforts and the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation has been the lucky chosen charity for 2025.
There are about 60 girls in the club and they’ve held two major fundraising events this year: a movie night and a quiz night. For both events club members, ably led by the board of six senior students, have made all the arrangements for two very successful events, including sourcing raffle prizes and food for these occasions.
At the club’s final meeting of the year on 14 October, Interact co-presidents twins Katherine and Hayley Ng, invited Iona McNaughton and Sue Gifford, two trustees from Blue Dragon Children’s Trust (NZ) to talk a little about the Trust and how it got started back in 2010.
They then presented the trustees with a donation of $1800, representing the club’s funds raised this year. It’s a massive achievement and contribution from this hard-working group.
Interact lends a hand at the Book Fair
In addition, some of the Interact girls helped out at the Trust’s annual book fair earlier this year and in previous years. As always, the Trust has been very appreciative of their friendly and helpful support at this fair. Long may this last!
Finally, a big thank you, on behalf of Blue Dragon Children’s Trust, to the Interact Club in Wellington for all you have done and are doing for the Trust.
